Fancy a career in music? Of course, you do! After all, belting out tracks by all your fave artists sounds like the dream gig, right?!
In fact… if you ask us, it’s the job that we were MADE for!
Okay, let’s put the silliness aside for a minute or two. On a slightly, more serious note, there’s no denying that trying to break into the music industry is tough.
Up-and-coming musicians are everywhere nowadays. Plus we can’t help but feel a little bit of sheer luck is needed to become ‘the next big thing’.
That said, a job as a singer is totally doable. If you don’t believe us, just ask, Dua Lipa. We recently caught up with the popstar about her empowering new album, which sounds something like this…
As a website that also likes to empower young people, we took the opportunity to ask Dua Lipa for some tips and advice for teenagers who dream of having their music in the charts someday.
Unsurprisingly, her advice was brilliant. Here’s what she said.
“Well my advice would be to set your intentions on your goals and to never lose site of them. Also work really, really hard,” she told Maximum Pop! “There are going to be so many times where you’re going to find yourself a bit confused and want to give up in a way, but don’t do it! Keep going, because if you’re very persistent and you work hard and believe in your art, there will be a way and you’ll make it work – absolutely.”
Not sure about you guys, but this is giving us all those epic ‘you got this!’ feels. It makes the dream feel soooooo much more achievable.
