Niall Horan seeks out Irish stars for new tour

Niall Horan is on a mission to recruit Irish bands and artists for his upcoming tour.

The One Direction star has branched out on his own since the boyband went on hiatus in 2015, and has so far released singles This Town and Slow Hands.

He’ll embark on his Flicker Sessions tour, which kicks off in Dublin, the capital of his home country, on 29 August (17) before taking in dates across the world, ending in San Francisco, California in November.

Niall will be joined on the road by a host of up-and-coming music stars, with many hailing from his native Ireland.

“So for my shows I wanted to make it as Irish as possible and show off the incredible music coming out of our lovely little country,” he tweeted to his 32.3 million followers on Tuesday (15Aug17), followed by an Irish flag emoji.

“So I asked around to see who was available and we got some great replies, so happy with this.”

The bands that have so far been announced include Wild Youth, who’ll play at the Olympia Theatre in Dublin, Picture This, who’ll be at the London and Stockholm shows, and singer Gavin James, who’s heading to America and Canada with Niall. +

American musican Corey Harper will also play some dates, and Niall added, “@coreyharp is obviously American but I wanted to share how great this guy is.”

Fans were delighted with the news that the 23-year-old star is keen to support Irish talent, with many exclaiming they were proud of him and calling the move “cute”.

As well as Europe and the U.S., Niall will stop off in South America, Australia and Japan.

Missed out on Ed Sheeran tickets? He’s just added more UK dates

Anyone fancy seeing Ed Sheeran live? Missed out on tickets for his 2018 shows when they were first released? Well, it’s worth mentioning that he’s announced new dates for his UK tour next year.

The new gigs will take place in Manchester, Glasgow, Newcastle and Cardiff after his existing dates sold out, obviously.

Tickets for the new dates are on sale right now here.

The new shows are as follows:

Sunday, May 27 – Manchester Etihad Stadium

Sunday, June 3 – Glasgow Hampden Park

Sunday, June 10 – Newcastle St James’ Park

Thursday, June 21 – Cardiff Principality Stadium

For anybody going to see Ed in the UK during his stadium tour, you may need to be a little more prepared than usual.

Strict new rules are in place, requiring attendees to bring a total of four forms of identification, as Ed attempts to fight back against touts.

Meanwhile, earlier this month, Ed’s single ‘Shape of You’ broke the record for the UK’s most streamed track of all time.

It overtook Drake’s ‘One Dance’ with 184 million streams since its release in January, according to the Official Charts Company.

‘Shape of You’ also became the best-selling song of the year so far, followed by Ed’s ‘Castle on the Hill’ in second place, and then by ‘Despacito’ by Luis Fonsi and Daddy Yankee featuring Justin Bieber in third.

With ‘Galway Girl’ in fourth place, Ed was very close to claiming all three top spots.

Is a Rita Ora and Ed Sheeran collaboration incoming?

It looks like a Rita Ora and Ed Sheeran collaboration could be on the cards.

Fans have been speculating the pair are working on new music together after Rita Ora uploaded video of her an Ed listening to an unknown song before looking to each other and smiling.

Fans were quick to speculate what the pair are up to, commenting ‘aaaaa what’s happening?’, ‘can not wait for this song’, ‘what’s coming?’ and ‘what’s going on, dis is cute’.

It’s not the first the pair have collaborated. Ed wrote Rita a song called ‘Us’ in 2015 but it never got released.

Hopefully this time we get to hear what the pair get up to in the studio!

This week, Ed shared the video for his latest single ‘Galway Girl’.

Shot in Galway Girl on Ireland’s West coast this month the video features actress Saoirse Ronan.

The video is shot from Ed’s perspective as he walks off on stage and ends up in a rowdy pub before taking to the streets with Saoirse.

Kygo and Selena Gomez drop the emotional music video for ‘It Ain’t Me’

It’s been a long time coming, but finally Kygo and Selena Gomez have dropped their music video for ‘It Ain’t Me’, which was released back in February.

Kygo announced the release of the music video on Twitter earlier today.

Neither Kygo or Selena appear in the music video, however it a truly emotional and traumatic video!

The music video features a couple who have a motorbike accident, leaving the boyfriend seriously ill in hospital. As he is left hooked up to all the monitors his girlfriend keeps a vigil at his bedside.

However, while the couple are recovering in the hospital, it seems there is an alternate reality with the pair walking through a tunnel, ending up on a forest lit by small lights.

You can listen to ‘It Ain’t Me’ by Kygo and Selena Gomez throughout the day.

Pink makes comeback on Stargate’s track with Sia, ‘Waterfall’

The music video for Pink and Sia’s long-awaited collaboration ‘Waterfall’ has finally been released, and it’s pretty incredible.

The two talented ladies have teamed up with songwriting duo Stargate for the catchy track, which has a video starring a couple of hugely talented aerial acrobats spinning upside-down and doing some impressive splits and dancing.

Stargate – made up of Mikkel Storeleer Erikson and Tor Erik Hermansen – have written a massive 11 UK number one singles between them, including Beyoncé’s ‘Irreplaceable’ and Rihanna’s hits ‘Don’t Stop the Music’ and ‘Diamonds’.

They also scored number ones with Billie Piper, Blue and Hear’Say, which is just the best in ’90s nostalgia.

Outside of music, Sia has been making her feelings very clear about President Trump and his immigration ban.

The singer recently pledged to match donations to the American Civil Liberties Union of up to $100,000 to “stand up to Trump” following his ban, which is very generous of her.

“Help our queer & immigrant friends,” she said on Twitter. “Send me your donation receipts for the @aclu & I will match up to $100K. #RESIST.”

And if the above video has reminded you how much you like Pink, you should know she’s returning to the UK in the summer as a headliner for V Festival alongside Jay-Z – her first time in 10 years on the stage.

Liam Payne reveals the advice he gave Justin Bieber for dealing with fame

He’s been in the spotlight since the age of 14 with One Direction so Liam Payne certainly knows how to deal with fame and now he’s been giving advice to fellow superstar Justin Bieber.Ahead of the release of his debut solo album, Liam has been chatting to Rollercoaster Magazine about his life and revealed exactly what happened when he met up with the one and only Justin Bieber.

Liam revealed he understands the struggles Justin has faced in the media and believes he can relate with him. He said, “Obviously [Bieber]’s struggled a lot through the way the world looked upon him,” Liam says. “He’s a great guy; inside there’s a really good heart. I said,’ look, the difference between me and you is that I had four different boys going through the same thing to look to.”

Admitting he gave Justin his mobile number in case he ever needed a chat, Liam added, ” He didn’t have that. … I said to him, ‘listen, take my number and any time you want to have a chat, let me know because I’m here and I understand exactly what you’re going through and I understand your world.”
The 23-year-old also admitted he has a chaotic side and said he’s used to chaos. Speaking about Bieber he said, “He needs somebody like that and in that position … We all have this chaotic side to us. You know, they say that anger breeds passion. I think that’s the same with a lot of us, that we let things get chaotic very quickly. We’re used to chaos.”

Since One Direction announced their hiatus last year, Liam has been working hard on his solo music in the studio.

Back in July last year Liam revealed to fans he’d signed a solo deal with Capitol Records.

Taking to Instagram to share his news, Liam wrote, ‘I’m really happy to have signed to such a prestigious label as Capitol Records UK. Capitol Records has an amazing history stretching right back before even Frank Sinatra and I’m really looking forward to becoming part of their story. One Direction will always be my family, I’m now excited to show what I can do as a solo artist.’
It hasn’t yet been revealed when Liam’s solo music will drop, but we seriously can’t wait to hear it!

Ed Sheeran’s ÷ is the third fastest-selling UK album ever with ALL SIXTEEN songs in the singles top 20

There’s no stopping the phenomenon that is Ed Sheeran.

The singer-songwriter has utterly dominated both the singles and albums charts, breaking several records and – believe it or not – taking 16 positions in the top 20 singles of the week.

That’s right… every single song – 16 of them – from his new album ÷ made the top 20!

This is a first in chart history – no artist has come close to achieving it before.

The top five of the UK singles chart are all Sheeran in a ruthless clean sweep. ‘Shape of You’ is at number one, followed by ‘Galway Girl’, ‘Castle on the Hill’, ‘Perfect’ and ‘New Man’. This is, you guessed it, also another chart first.

Another record? Sheeran has become the artist with the most top ten singles from one album. Not only does he hold nine of the top ten this week, but ‘How Would You Feel (Paean)’ (which is number 11) previously charted inside the top ten – which means ÷ has a total of ten top ten singles.

The dominance doesn’t stop there.

In the UK albums chart, ÷ is top after shifting 672,000 copies, the fastest-selling by a male solo artist ever and the third fastest-selling overall in the first seven days – beaten only by Adele’s 25 (800,000) and Oasis’s Be Here Now (696,000).

In fact, Sheeran’s album has sold more than the rest of the top 500 combined.

“Wow, what a phenomenal week!” the singer said. “To every person who’s bought the album, thank you. I’m buzzing!”

Sheeran’s previous albums x and + are fourth and fifth respectively in this week’s albums chart.

Rag’n’Bone Man is second with Human, while Stormzy’s Gang Signs & Prayer is third.
