Carly Rae Jepsen, purveyor of life-affirming pop anthems, has released a brand new song and it’s whipped Twitter users up into a storm.
Appearing on the soundtrack to the movie Leap!, ‘Cut to the Feeling’ is a bombastic cannonball of glitter and ’80s synths, with an unashamedly jumbo-sized chorus that you can’t help but sing along to while walking home from a night on the town.
It’s a song that could easily slip into a Kylie Minogue greatest hits collection and stand tall.
It’s no surprise then that this song was originally recorded for the singer’s 2015 album E•MO•TION, which was full of the kind of giddy pop that used to rule the airwaves before fun was considered uncool.
Fans online are calling it the song of the summer already, and are desperate for the song not to underperform like the album it was recorded for:

We’re not sure if there’s an official petition or movement to get people to #BuyCutToTheFeelingoniTunes but we’re happy to start it right here and now.
If there’s a fanbase who knows anything about spreading the word of pop, it’s Carly Rae Jepsen’s. The epic saxophone intro of ‘Run Away with Me’ gave birth to #RunAwaywithMeme and was, without a doubt, the peak of the now-defunct social media platform Vine.
Did we forget to mention, #BuyCutToTheFeelingoniTunes?
